{"id":1504,"date":"2015-08-09T20:24:11","date_gmt":"2015-08-09T20:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tsgarc.uk\/?p=1504"},"modified":"2015-08-09T20:24:11","modified_gmt":"2015-08-09T20:24:11","slug":"website-directory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tsgarc.uk\/?p=1504","title":{"rendered":"Website directory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How many people know that our website has a members directory?\u00a0 You do, great \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 But do you know what can be done with it?\u00a0 No, read on&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly our directory\u00a0contains a list of all members and their contact information. \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 All members receive a login account to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsgarc.uk\/\">website <\/a>when they become TSGARC members.\u00a0 This account\u00a0can be used to\u00a0publish articles or news items, such as this, but also to access the directory.\u00a0 When a website login account is created or removed the directory is also updated to ensure they are both aligned but unfortunately its a manual two-step process.\u00a0 Website updates to create member accounts and ensure the directory is aligned\u00a0are performed by the Secretary or Webmaster, if you spot a problem with the directory please let them\u00a0know.<\/p>\n<p>The directory lets members identify the contact information of other members.\u00a0 But it also has two other nice features relating to email.\u00a0 The first allows members to email another individual member directly via the\u00a0website.\u00a0 The second allows members to email an entire group of members.\u00a0 Let me explain.\u00a0 Each member has a role or <em>position<\/em> in the club.\u00a0\u00a0Chairman, Treasurer, Webmaster are examples of <em>positions<\/em> but there are others too.\u00a0 One really cool <em>position<\/em> is Members.\u00a0 Emailing the Members <em>position<\/em> will send an email to all current\u00a0TSGARC members.<\/p>\n<p>Another example.\u00a0Lets say you wanted to email the Treasurer but you&#8217;re\u00a0not sure who that is.\u00a0 Well, you can email the\u00a0Treasurer <em>position <\/em>and let the directory and website work out who that is \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>In addition to simple information such as name, telephone, email etc the directory can contain other information such as a photograph.\u00a0 So, if you have a photo you are invited to add it to your entry in the directory.\u00a0 For an example see my entry \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Access to the directory can be achieved by selecting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsgarc.uk\/?page_id=938\" target=\"_blank\">Member contact<\/a> link from the TSGARC home page.\u00a0 Its the first item on the SUB-MENU which is located towards the top right hand side.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully this short update is useful.<\/p>\n<p><em>Andrew<\/em><br \/>\n<em>G0RVM<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Webmaster<\/em><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How many people know that our website has a members directory?\u00a0 You do, great \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 But do you know what can be done with it?\u00a0 No, read on&#8230;.
