At our weekly club meeting on 9th Sept, we had a talk and demonstration on using smartphone apps to encode and decode images for SSTV. These just use the phone’s mic and speaker to send and receive audio via a handheld on 2m FM. No cables were used to connect to the radios, we were just using the radio’s speaker and mic, so no extra equipment was needed other than smartphones and handheld radios.

Thanks Neil an informative evening, the practical was fun even if a bit deafening! Some of us have moved on to install SSTV software on PC’s! remember the SSTV QSO qualifies towards Brickworks.
